Yushan (Mt. Jade) National Park
is located in the central part of Taiwan. The centerpiece is the
3952-meter peak of Yushan, the highest in Northeast
Asia. This park is also known for its diverse
wildlife and ecology. Its major scenic resources include
alpine topography, alpine ecology, towering peaks, varying
forest belts, wild animals, and an ancient trail, all of

was established in 1982 and it is Taiwan’s most densely populated
national park. It includes large stretches of agricultural
land’s providing visitors with a view of typical Taiwanese
rural life. In addition, it also includes mountains, forest,

is the tallest building in the world, with a mass of shops

and many fine restaurants. The 5th
floor provides high-speed pressurized elevators, reaching
speeds of 1010 meters per minute, to the 89th
floor’s Taipei 101 Observatory. It takes only 37 seconds

floor to look into a beautiful new horizon.

is a world-class museum that hosts an eclectic collection of
treasures kept by generations of Emperors ruling from the
Forbidden

is the one of the largest night markets in Taipei. ShiLin Night Market was built as early
as in 1899 and the market is famous for various snacks and
eatery. Many visitors have come to here to enjoy the
delicious foods, such as large pancake enfolding small
pancake, hot pot on stone, or ShiLin sausage. ShiLin Night
Market has become a renowned place for great foods.

Yangmingshan National Park
is the back yard of the people of the greater Taipei area. In addition to its plethora of
flowers and other vegetation, one of its main features is
the volcanic terrain that gives Yangmingshan a limitless
supply of geothermal resources and makes it an ideal place
for hot-spring bathing. The magnificent mountainous scenery
and comfortable weather have made

Longshan Temple
is a famous old temple in
Taiwan
and was built in Qianlong 5th year in Qing Dynasty. Due to
natural disaster and damages caused by human, it was
restored for several times. It is for worshiping Guanshiyin
Budda and other divine spirits and its architecture is a
three-section design in shape. Besides, it also has many
Chinese poems, verses, and lyrics on signs. These add a
touch of literature in addition to the religious and
sightseeing value.
Lungshan
Temple
is not only a temple, a sightseeing attraction, but also a
second-degree historical site. There are traditional
streets/shops, antique shops, Buddhists article shops, and
Chinese medicine shops surrounding the temple. These places
are great to visit due to their richness in folk art.

Beitou Hot Springs
are caused by the terrestrial heat of
Datum
Mountains.
Thermal valley of Beitou Hot Sprints
is one of the earliest hot spring sources found in Taiwan. The green sulfur in Thermal
valley is the acid spring. The hot spring in Beitou Hot Spring Road is white sulfur.
Beitou hot spring has been famous since Japanese colonial
times. The area is around with historic monuments and
natural scenic spots.

DanShui Fisherman’s Wharf
is located in northwest of
Taipei
basin, DanShui, surrounded by mountains and rivers. Those
who visit DanShui can enjoy the old streets, the cool
breeze, the flower/trees planted by residents, and the sense
of relaxation. Walking on the old streets along the
riverbank, visitors may view the old buildings and may try
the tasty local dishes, such as fish dumplings, Argi (fried
meat pastry) and hard eggs, etc. The dock is a good place
for marvelous sunset viewing. Visitors can also take the
boat ride between DanShui and Bali.
It is relaxing to lean against the fence enjoying the breeze
and sights at the
DanShui
River
mouth. In the evening, this is the best place to watch the
view of the sunset. DanShui is such a wonderful place and be
sure to visit it.

Hongmau Castle
is a historical site in DanShui with historical meaning. It
was built by the Spaniards in 1626 and restored by the
Dutch. The castle was called Anthony Castle. Because
Taiwan people called the Dutch people
Hongmau (people with red hair), the castle thus was called
Hongmau
Castle.
The castle was once taken by the English and it was
repossessed by the government in 1980. The castle is more
than 300 years old and is designated as first-class
historical site. The building is red brick construction. The
original furniture is reserved for indoor decoration. There
are exhibition showrooms for historical data and pictures
related to early
Taiwan
years. Across the lawn and garden, there is another red
brick building facing the castle. It used to be the
dormitory of British Consulate. When one ascends to the
overlook platform, one can view one of the eight great
scenes of DanShui, the sunset at Shutai. Nearby, there are
Old
Oxford
School, Residence of Dr. Mackay, and
DanShui
College.
These old buildings are mostly well preserved. When one
walks among these buildings, he (she) would feel that times
have turned back.

Bitan Scenic Area
is one of the eight famous attractions in Taiwan
which is near by MRT Xindian station and a good place for
people to relax and enjoy their weekend. This area is
suitable for canoeing, fishing, barbecuing, rowing, and
exploring nature. The lake’s steep cliffs and aquamarine
water make it one of Xindian’s scenic spots.

Guandu Temple
is first built in 1661 and dedicated to Matzu, goddess of
the sea. It is about a 15-minute walk from Guandu MRT
Station. Outside the temple there are numerous stalls
selling products such as spirit money used in religious
observances, as well as snack foods and souvenirs. Guandu
temple is filled with exquisitely carved dragon pillars,
stone lions, and wall sculptures. Even the door gods are in
the form of relief carvings, in contrast to the usual
paintings. The rafters and beams are also beautifully carved
and painted.
